QQ: We're so excited about the possibilities of you being a part of "Dancing With The Stars" again! What are you doing to campaign? Are you tweeting, are you making appearances, what are you doing to help with the campaign?
A: I basically wanted to hopefully take the audience along for this ride with me, so I’m tweeting a lot, I’m sending a lot of pictures, doing dance videos for them, just taking them with me. I’ve got some fun stuff that is up in the air and almost about ready to be done, so this week actually I’ve been really excited that the fans will get a chance to see it if not actually end up being a part of it. I’ve made t-shirts, and I'm in Vegas, so the sky’s the limit here. I'm really just getting it all together. It was hard not to tell the fans what was going on before they were able to actually know about the vote.
Q: How were you approached about being a part of the show for All-Stars?
A: The woman who actually casts the season actually asked me what I thought about an all-star season last year and I was doing abc.com interviews and I was on set of the show. She was like, what do you think, and I’m like, well what do you mean? She was like, would you, do you think people, like some of the celebs who have already done it, would want to? I was like, absolutely! Everyone that goes on that show, you get this like Latin dancing bug in you that you really can’t shake off. It just becomes a part of you, and you want to learn more. You want to keep dancing. I was like, absolutely, the people that I know, I mean, I’m really good friends with Joey Fatone who was out here in Vegas and the talks of “All-Star” was going on when we first got here and I was like, what do you think Joey? And he was like, I would do it in a heartbeat, would you? And I was like, absolutely. Then Joey got the call and he’s on this season, he’s on the “All-Star” season, and then I got a call saying that I would be a part of a voting thing. We want to do a fan-favorite vote, but I didn’t know who else was on it. So that was kind of scary, because you’re like, who am I going to go against to try to get this? Then of course it ends up being two of the guys that I’ve totally just fallen in love with here in Vegas. We’ve all done the “Las Vegas” Live show here at the Tropicana for three months together, Kyle, Carson and I. So this is really cool. It’s fun to hang out with them in New York, we promoted it and everything, but it was hard. I knew for about, I’d say two, maybe three weeks before they were going to announce it so that was really tough to not go on the computer and be like, aaah! You guys! I’m so excited! I couldn’t do that just yet.
Q: Have they given you any possible details about the season? Are you going to be paired again with Mark, or would this be someone all new?
A: That’s what’s so great about this show. It makes it totally, almost scary because you really don’t know any information until the pros have gotten the call of whether or not they’re on the season. They’re not even announced for a while as well, and I don’t even think they’ll be announced yet. For me, I have absolutely no idea. When the pros are called they aren’t told who their celebrity is. So no one really knows just yet.
Q: Has dancing at the Tropicana helped you prepare for the upcoming season if you’re voted in?
A: It has allowed me to brush up on the types of dances that I already know, but nothing can really prepare you for “Dancing with the Stars” because it’s so intense. I feel like it’s allowed me to at least brush up on my Cha-Cha and my Jive, for sure.
Q: With the stars that have already been announced, who do you see as the biggest competition? Or are you not sizing it up just yet?
A: Well, I’m really, really trying to focus on basically just the vote right now. I mean, that All-Star cast is quite a list. It’s definitely a list of people that if I let myself think about it too much I will probably start getting super jittery.
Q. What can fans do to help spread the word?
A. Everyone is texting me and calling me and asking what they can do. I'm telling them to put the link on in an email and mass email it and text it out to your friends. Post it on Facebook and Twitter, whatever medium that you have, post it on it and make it easy for people to click on it. Everyone can vote five times a day, that's what I'm asking everyone to do. Let everyone you know know what's going on with this voting thing, they only have until August 24th to get as many votes in as possible.
Q. What are you looking forward to the most with returning to the show?
A. I am just dying with anxiety about getting out there on that stage again, there is nothing like dancing to that Latin music. The band is unbelievable and being out there and getting the critiques from the judges. It's great just be out there. The audience since I've been on the show has expanded, how many people who are in the live audience in the studio with you, they made the ballroom even bigger than what it was. I've gone to several tapings since I was on the show and I'm like man, what I wouldn't give to be tearing it up there on the dance floor.
Q. You were in season five of the show, now we're in season fourteen, how has the show evolved?
A. Joey and I went to last seasons premiere and we both were like do they have fire on the show? That was not around when we were on the show, they have fire. The first couple came out and there we were like wow, what has this show has evolved into? The show has grown, the audience has grown, the kind of dancing has even grown and they have added so many different ones. it's going to be great to see what they really put out there for this All-Star season.
Q. Is there anything else that you'd like to say to your fans and supporters or to tease?
A. I 100% am hoping they get me out on there, and if they do I promise I will bring them exactly want to see, exactly the kind of show they want. I have always been able to count on my fans to support me and I am just hoping they continue to support. We'll do it together, we'll do it together, we'll dance and we'll do it together.
