Q) What are the recent projects you have been working on?

A) My movie Madea's Witness Protection Program comes out on June 29th. Then, I have guest starring role on Drop Dead Diva. I have been busy! I also just finished my Junior year of school.

Q) Please tell us about the premise for Madea's Witness Protection Program and about your character Cindy.

A) I am the daughter in a very wealthy family and we get involved in a money scandal that leads my family into needing the Witness Protection Program. The house we are staying at belongs to Madea because they think she can provide good protection. It's a very funny story and the characters all evolve throughout it. It helps them cooperate more as a family because they are pretty dysfunctional at the beginning. My character, Cindy, hates her stepmom and she doesn't get along with her half-brother. She's very moody. She's very self-centered and not at all happy with their situation because she had to move away from her friends and she can't talk to anyone. It's a really, really good story.

Q) What made you want to be a part of the film?

A) There is a great cast with so many veteran actors. The storyline had a great premise and I've grown up watching the Madea movies since I was five years old. The story is something I've seen since I was really young. So, to be a part of that was something I couldn't believe. I got to work with these actors that I've grown up watching. It was a dream come true!

Q) What was the most challenging aspect of your role?

A) Tyler Perry likes to move very quickly when he films. The scenes were very quick. The most challenging part was that there was a lot of improvising. It was basically the entire script. We had the scene sets and the direction for how the scene was to go, but the words for the scene we did not follow at all. Everyone was an improv genius. Tyler Perry is just a master, in my opinion. Eugene [Levy] and Denise [Richards] were just rolling with lines and I think it really brought the story more realism. I was having such a good time filming. It was hilarious!

Q) What is it like working with Tyler Perry?

A) It was so interesting to me because he was acting at the same time as he was directing. Here he is dressed as a woman and he's talking like her. Then, he'll say, "Cut!" and talk to me in his normal voice. Seeing that come out as he's dressed as a woman was hilarious! His notes were great and he's a great director. His acting is amazing and it was so interesting to be in that position and to get to work with him.

Q) In the commercial, we see water being dumped on you. What was that like to film?

A) That was such a fun scene to film! They had to get a certain reaction out of me. We only had to film it once, which was crazy! I felt so lucky with that because being dumped with more water did not sound like a good time. I'd have to blow dry my hair. We had this whole station set up just so we could do the scene again if we needed to.

Q) What were some of your favorite moments from filmingMadea's Witness Protection Program?

A) I loved having the water dumped on me. That was a great scene to film! That was probably my favorite. I also really liked a scene we filmed where we are getting off the plane and Doris Roberts was phenomenal in it and hysterical. Every time the camera would shut off the cast and crew would crack up. Her lines were perfectly timed and every scene with her was awesome to be in.

Q) Did you get to spend much time with your fellow cast members off set?

A) We did! Everyone in the cast was awesome. We'd go out to dinner every night or every other night. The boy who played my brother was really fun. Romeo [Miller] and I got really close on set. Denise Richards was a lot of fun and really sweet. We would Facetime with her kids a lot. We'd have lunch with Eugene. I got really close with the cast and I feel really fortunate to have done that.

Q) What do you think it is about the movie that will make people want to go see it?

A) I think it's a dramedy. There is the intense side to the story with the drama and it's got so much comic relief that it helps lighten the movie. It's a feel good movie and there are lots of lessons in the movie. Madea is just such a fun character that you can't not like it.

Q) When do you start working on your film Sixteen South?

A) It's on hold for now because they are trying to get a certain location that is currently being used. Once that film spot is freed then we will start filming.

Q) A lot of people know you from your work in the filmStarStruck. Would you want to work on another musical or another Disney film?

A) Yes! I love doing the Disney movies. Prom was a lot of fun to film and Sterling [Knight] was a lot of fun on StarStruck. Filming with Disney was a great experience for me and I would love to work with them again.

Q) If you weren't an actress what career would you like to pursue?

A) I love to write and journalism would be one of my passions. When I was younger, I had the dream of being a spy. So, maybe one day I'll get to do a role like that.

Q) Do you think you'll ever give professional singing a chance?

A) I take lessons with a singing coach. I think if a role called for me to sing I would definitely do it. Right now, I'm focusing on my acting. If something were to come up for me to sing then I would love to give it a try.

Q) Who are some of your acting inspirations?

A) I have a lot! There is Russell Crowe, Denzel Washington and Selena Gomez - I think she's great in all aspects. I also really like Blake Lively. Paul Walker is one of my favorite actors because I love the Fast Five movies. He's my celeb crush, if anyone.

Q) You reside in Chicago, is that how do you stay so grounded?

A) I think it's great that my dad and mom have jobs in Chicago. I think it's kept me really grounded because it's kept me appreciative of my time in California. My summers are spent in California and then it's always great to come home and be with my friends that I go to school with. My life here is really normal when I'm home and it's nice to be able to come back to that.

Q) Now that you are a well known actress, do you get recognized easily?

A) I do get recognized a lot and I take pictures. That, to me, is exciting and it makes me feel really good. It means people have seen my work and really enjoyed it. It just puts a big smile on my face and I love doing that!
