New Page 1Q) What the recent projects that you have been working on?
A) I've been working on the show "Hollywood Heights" and that's kept me pretty busy.
Q) Please tell us the premise from for your movie Ted and about your character Roxy.
A) Ted stars Mark Wahlberg as John Bennett. When he is little, he makes a wish for a best friend since he doesn't have many friends in school. He wishes his teddy bear would be his best friend forever. As it happens in movies, a shooting star is falling and his wish ends up coming true. His teddy bear ends up coming to life and becomes his best friend. It's not like a lot of movies where no one else knows the bear is real. Everyone acknowledges that this teddy bear has come to life. The movie is about their journey through their friendship. As they get older, Ted kind of hinders some of John's relationships. I play the friend and coworker to John's girlfriend, Lori Collins, played by Mila Kunis. We all think John is a loser and she shouldn't be dating him. We're trying to get her to date a real man, someone who has their life together and doesn't hang out with a teddy bear all day. I'm her friend who isn't the smartest girl in the world, but she loves Lori a lot and helps her out the way friends do.
Q) What made you want to be a part of the film?
A) I've always been a fan of "Family Guy" and I'm a huge Seth MacFarlane fan. When I got to audition for the movie I was so excited. The script was hilarious and nothing like I'd read before. A lot of the times when you have a CGI character in a movie no one else knows that the bear is alive. Everyone in this movie acknowledged the bear was a real person and I loved the relationship between Mark and Ted. Mainly, it was Seth MacFarlane because I think he's a genius. I was really, really excited to be a part of the movie.
Q) What did you find challenging about your role?
A) Seth would act out the bear's part when he wasn't directing. So, he wore this suit that would later show the teddy bear having his mannerisms. I'm acting in a scene where the bear isn't really there and when Seth wasn't there it was just an actual teddy bear in his spot. Everything was such an amazing experience and everyone was so sweet. Mila and Mark are amazing and I can't say enough nice things about Seth. We had an awesome time in Boston. It was a lot of fun!
Q) What was Seth MacFarlane like as a director?
A) It was so fun! I was so intimidated by him when we first met. I was in awe because he is just so hilarious. So, I thought there was no way I could be funny in front of Seth MacFarlane. At the audition, when he laughed, it was the highest compliment I have received! He lets you be free and make some choices. Also, he'd direct us sometimes to find a little funnier ways to do it. He gives you a lot of room to explore your character. He's such a nice person though and so much fun to work with. His comedy is not so obvious so he finds ways to make things funny in a different way.
Q) What were some of your favorite moments from filmingTed?
A) We have a scene that is a big house party of our boss, who is played by Joel McHale. We go over to his house to this fancy party and every time Joel is supposed to walk over to our group and he's supposed to say some rude line to Mark. Every time he'd say something different and off the wall. It'd be so hard to keep it together because it'd be so funny. He'd change the line every single time and it'd get funnier and funnier. We were filming over night so when you get really tired you get a lot of giggles. It was a hard time for all of us to keep it together and not laugh.
Q) You are also on the show "Hollywood Heights." Please tell us about your character Chloe Carter.
A) She's a model and aspiring actress. She's dating Eddie Duran, played by Cody Longo, who is a big pop star. In the beginning, you think she's really nice and she claims to love Eddie a lot, but then you find out she's really only out for herself. She'll do anything it takes to get famous. She'll walk on who ever she has to in order to become a huge star. Sometimes that includes cheating on Eddie and she's really mean to people. It's always fun to play the mean girl, but sometimes it's hard to watch.
Q) What do you think it is about the show that will draw in viewers?
A) There is something for everyone on the show! There is a high school storyline so I think kids will really relate to it. Brittany Underwood and Ashley Holliday play best friends and their relationship is cool to watch. It's like watching your relationship with your best friend play out on TV, which is really cool. There is family drama, a lot of relationship drama and a cool story of a young girl trying to make her dreams come true. It was my dream when I was a kid to meet my biggest crush at the time, which was Justin Timberlake. Every time I'd go to the show I swore I was going to meet him! It's cool because Brittany's character ends up meeting her rock star crush. It's cool to watch a girl's dreams come true. The best way to describe "Hollywood Heights" is getting a sneak peek at Brittany making all of her dreams come true.
