The long awaited release of season three of the beloved show

The long awaited release of season three of the beloved show "Everwood" is now available on DVD!

Season three picks up where the big cliffhanger of season two left off with Andy (Treat Williams) finding a letter from Madison (Sarah Lancaster) who says she doesn't want anything to do with him.  She's now in Denver but doesn't divulge what she has done about the unborn child of Ephram's that she was carrying.  Andy feels helpless, alone, and in the dark.  Ephram has returned to Everwood after his failed attempt at making it at Julliard.  After having tried to make their long distance romance work, Amy finds herself low on Ephram's list of priorities as he tries to recapture his dedication to the piano.  Bright has realized the error of his manwhorish ways and has an attitude adjustment towards women when he gets accused of sexual harassment by a lady at the Count Clerk's office.

The arrival of a new doctor shakes things up in town and with Andy and causes a lot of friction.  This doesn't hold a candle though to the fact that he's having some un-doctor-like feelings for the wife of a patient he's treating for a debilitating stroke (played by Anne Heche).  Ephram heads back to New York in one last effort to land his dream and that dream gets a bit shattered when he has a chance meeting with Madison where he learns about the secret his father has been harboring and learns the fate of his child.  Rose develops a malignant tumor and Jake and Nina make a big decision about their relationship and future as a lie in couple and business partners in a new restaurant venture.  Viewers get introduced to the new character of Hannah (played by Sarah Drew) who comes to live with Nina

Season three was a bag of mixed emotions for a majority of the characters on "Everwood" and provided a lot of angst.  Whether it was baby drama, health issues, or relationship issues, this season of "Everwood" felt a little off.  Somewhere along the way the writing for the season missed the mark and the characters became jumbled.  Thankfully in the seasons to follow "Everwood" became back on track and made up for this disaster.

Sadly, the only DVD extras that are included are some deleted scenes and bloopers, nothing to spend time watching.  Fans of the show will be incredibly disappointed in the extras, but extremely happy for the release of this treasured show.

"Everwood:  The Complete Third Season" comes to DVD starting on June 15th.
