I gotta feelingLet's be honest, who wouldn't enjoy a CD compiled of some of the 2010 Grammy nominations? The CD has some of your favorite artists and their hit songs that have had you stuck in your head. What could be bad about that?
The CD begins with the catchiest tune of them all..."I Gotta Feeling," by the Black Eyed Peas. You couldn't escape this dance anthem that has been featured in tons of TV shows and, of course, at every club. In fact, this song has been played so many times on the radio that even your parents probably know the words to it! So, since you couldn't begin to forget it, you can definitely appreciate why it is up for a coveted Grammy and earned a spot on the CD.
Next up, is (surprise) "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga. This is yet another inescapable tune from the summer that you've been addicted to. In fact, I am sure Lady Gaga will score at least one award. She's an incredible performer and has had hit after hit. So, Beyonce "Halo" fans (I'm talking to you Kanye West), please don't be sore losers.
Another group with great Grammy potential is Kings of Leon. Their hit song "Use Somebody," is heartfelt and passionate, giving a clear note as to why they have been nominated. Unfortunately (in my opinion), other entertainment journalists report "You & Me" by Dave Matthews Band to be a sure win. I think it is time for Kings of Leon to finally get the chance to step into the limelight and am hoping the best for them.
Cutie Colbie Caillat is nominated for her smooth sultry voice on "Fallin' For You." It's a very sweet song, but (sadly) I am not sure it has the chance to win anything. Besides, have you seen the crazy video for that song?
Now, here comes my dream list...I absolutely love The Fray. So, I'd like to seem them win for their beautiful and dreamy song "You Found Me." I also think Pink deserves to win a Grammy this season. First, she's consistently delivered amazing music that blows the audience away. Secondly, her song "Sober" is gruff and golden. It has passion and ferocity, much like Pink herself. It is an absolute Grammy worthy tune.
I'll further show you my Grammy cards and let you know that I'd also like to see Kelly Clarkson win. I've always been a fan of her's from her season on "American Idol." So, the fact "My Life Would Suck Without You" is up for a Grammy makes me quite pleased. I know that not everyone (including my choices) can snag themselves the prestigious award, but if more than one person could win per category, then the more the merrier! I am sure that won't happen though, so best of luck to my girl Kelly.
That being said, let's see if Adele can make it to the top with "Hometown Glory." Her soulful voice reminds me of the divas from the 60's and 70's. She is clearly a long-term artist, like Katy Perry, so I wouldn't be too bummed out if either didn't snag an honor this season.
So, here is where I'd usually offer up my top song selections from the CD, but I can't do that. All of these songs have been nominated for a Grammy and are listen-worthy. You get the best of every world with this CD so it is an excellent selection. Now, all you have to do is wait for January 31st to see which one of these hit songs get the coveted award.
