QQ. What are some of the recent projects that you've been working on?
A. Pirates of the Caribbean 3 has kept me busy for the past year and a half! Other than that, I also did an independent film that I'm quite proud of called Chinaman's Chance. I was fortunate enough to play the lead opposite such greats as Ernest Borgnine, Olivia Hussey, Timothy Bottoms, and Danny Trejo. It should be in limited release in August of 2007. Other than that, swashbuckling on Pirates and being on the phone on "Prison Break" has left me with very little time; and I'm thankful!!
Q. You've been appearing on the show "Prison Break," will we get to see more of your character soon?
A. Yes.
Q. What kind of breakdown for your character were you originally given?
A. I was told he was an agent similar to that of Paul Kellerman; that they had known each other. He was protecting the president. I wasn't given much background after that. From there, one of the producers gave me suggestions on where to take the character - which, for me, was not only helpful, but gave a whole new perspective on this guy.
Q. What do you think it is about the show that continues to draw viewers in?
A. Well, for me, it was actually my favorite show on television. So, I was pretty thrilled to get to work on it. I think the specific characterizations of each cast member along with the tight situations they're always put in lends to a very suspenseful, addictive drama. Aside from that, the writers are just so spectacular.
Q. You've also been shooting the latest installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. How do you feel being a part of such a successful film series?
A. Incredibly humbled to be working with the likes of Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush. And for such an extended period of time. It feels like a child's dream come true to get to pretend on such a large scale - at times, daunting. But, I had the time of my life! The director, Gore Verbinski, deserves so much credit for his sensibility in working with actors and for keeping the "ship" together for so long. It was awesome!
Q. Do you have a memorable moment from your time filming the movie?
A. I have so many - none of which, I think, I can mention because I don't want to give anything away. But one that I can is flying back to Los Angeles from the Caribbean sitting next to Geoffrey Rush and conversing with him. It was quite surreal asking him which one of his Oscar-nominated experiences he enjoyed the most. That, and my first time shooting a scene opposite him and Johnny Depp. Intense and thrilling!
Q. What about the role has been challenging for you?
A. In "Prison Break," it's definitely finding the calm and "nice" presence within this character and having it be real. It's been challenging but, more than that, very rewarding as an actor!
Q. What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A. Traveling, playing tennis, spending time with my new baby niece, laughing with friends.
Q. Do you have a latest obsession? Are you into any particular sport, music group, book or activity?
A. I'm a crossword buff but lately, it's been all Sudoku. For some reason, it calms me. I've been reading Joel Goldsmith's "The Art of Spiritual Healing" for about a year now. Every word seems so full of wisdom - I can't get enough. Aside from that, I play tennis every chance I get!
